What you should know about Toepedo Cream

About your treatment

The name of your treatment is Toepedo Cream. It contains two active ingredients:- benzoic acid (6%) and salicylic acid (3%). It also contains glycerol, white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, sodium lauryl sulphate, cetostearyl alcohol and purified water as inactive ingredients.

This tube contains 20g of Toepedo Cream. The cream is white and has no fragrance. It is specially formulated to gently treat the infected outer layers of skin, whilst attacking the underlying fungal infection.

Your doctor or pharmacist has recommended or supplied this cream for the treatment and management of Athlete's Foot and other appropriate fungal infections of the skin.

When NOT to apply Toepedo Cream

DO NOT use as a treatment for thrush, and keep away from the face, bottom and genital (sex) regions.

DO NOT use on moles, rashes, or any skin lesion for which Toepedo is not recommended.

DO NOT use if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients (as listed previously).

If in any doubt about diagnosis or the suitability of Toepedo, seek medical advice before use.

For your safety

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is generally advisable to ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using medication.
Keep Toepedo Cream away from your face, bottom or genital (sex) regions.
If the cream is accidentally swallowed, or if it gets into the eyes, contact a doctor or a hospital straight away.

How to apply Toepedo Cream

Toepedo Cream is for external use only.

The same instructions apply to adults (including the elderly) and children.
Wash and dry the affected area with your own towel (to avoid cross-infection).
Gently squeeze Toepedo Cream through the domed applicator/dispenser and apply a thin layer to the affected areas.
Rub cream gently into the skin until absorbed.
When using Toepedo Cream to treat Athlete's Foot, it may be helpful to dust the treated area with talcum powder.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Toepedo Cream should be applied twice daily, unless your doctor has told you to apply it either more or less frequently.
Treatment should continue until the skin is completely cleared - that is, until there is no abnormality to see or feel, and the texture of the skin is normal. Depending on the severity of the fungal infection, this may take a few weeks; it is therefore important that you continue with your treatment as long as necessary and do not give up too early (unless irritation occurs).
Help prevent re-infection by occasional use.

During your treatment

Occasionally, after application of Toepedo Cream, a slight tingling sensation and/or some mild tenderness may be experienced, depending upon the severity of the fungal infection. In certain cases, Toepedo Cream may be irritant and its use should be discontinued if pain or inflammation occurs.

In rare instances of skin rashes or irritation, stop your treatment.

You should seek medical advice if you have any undesirable effects when using Toepedo Cream.

How to store Toepedo Cream

This product should not be used after the expiry date shown on the tube seal. Always replace the cap tightly after use.
Store Toepedo Cream at room temperature (not exceeding 25°C) in a safe place where children cannot see or reach it.
